Take a FREE Breastfeeding class online

Nursing Mothers Counsel currently provides free breastfeeding classes online via zoom. We suggest taking a class a month or two before your due date. We schedule online breastfeeding classes once or twice a month, so please check back if you don’t see any current classes listed.

You will have a live instructor and can ask questions at the end of the session. Be sure to allow email from nmc.sfbay@gmail.com through any spam filters, and if your plans change, be sure to click on cancel or reschedule in your reminder emails/texts so that another parent can join in your place! If you don’t get a class confirmation within 2-4 hours, please email us at classes@nursingmothers.org.

Don’t forget to check out our Resources Page (link at top) as there are links to Stanford online videos and lots of great information!

Our free zoom class covers:

  • what to expect in the early days

  • how to establish a good milk supply

  • when to feed your baby and signs that your baby is getting enough

  • proper positioning

  • how to get an optimal latch

  • milk expression and pump basics

  • and much more!

Expectant parents and their partners, support people, and birth attendants (like doulas) are all welcome and encouraged to attend. Nursing a baby is most successful when the home environment is supportive and informed. Please note, this class does not qualify for continuing education units for birth workers.
